Fundamental of Medical Interpreting (60 Hours)
This training is offered twice a year:

This 60-hour comprehensive program covers:
- Interpreting Skills
- Code of Ethics
- Triadic Communication Skills
- Standards of Practice
- Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology and
- Medical Terminology in English and Target Language
ASSESSMENT
Once the candidate is successfully registered, they will pick a date for the online written assessment exam. A written assessment exam needs to be taken and passed before being invited for the Oral Exam. Two dates are offered to take the written assessment exam.
ORAL EXAM
If the candidate passes both written and oral exam, they will be invited to enroll in the course. Candidates MUST make the full payment or the minimum required payment to reserve a spot in the class. Installment plans are available. All necessary paperwork, including the participation agreement, must be completed.
After enrollment and payment is completed, candidates will be provided with digital materials and will be onboarded in our Learning Management System CANVAS.
This program will be online sessions. Candidates will be required to have a computer with sound, a microphone and a webcam.
FEES
There is a non-refundable fee of $50.00 for the online written assessment.
The fee for the training course is $400.00 for employees of health care facilities affiliated with MassHealth* or $900.00 for applicants who do not work in health care facilities affiliated with MassHealth. Once enrolled, course fees are nonrefundable.
*Employees of health care facilities that offer services to MassHealth members may receive a discount of $500.00. This funding is available after all other resources from employer for education and training are exhausted. A letter verifying employment is required.
